Dr. Stephanie Kaza is Professor emerita of Environmental Studies at the University of Vermont and author of Green Buddhism: Practice and Compassionate Action in Uncertain Times. She returned to Portland, Oregon in 2015 and has since been working on climate issues with local faith and justice action groups. Her Buddhist roots are in Soto Zen, with lay ordination from Kobun Chino Ottogawa and further study with Robert Aitken, Thich Nhat Hanh, and John Daido Loori. Her most recent book is the tribute anthology, A Wild Love for the World: Joanna Macy and the Work of Our Time. Other books include Dharma Rain: Sources of Buddhist Environmentalism; Mindfully Green; and Hooked! Buddhist Writings on Greed, Desire, and the Urge to Consume.
