Simon Moyes explores how to bring the teachings from Zen Buddhism to everyday life. He works in the corporate and non-profit worlds teaching mindfulness and emotional intelligence, as a coach, as a lead trainer with Google’s Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute, and he designed and taught the United Nations' Peace on Purpose program. Simon studied and worked as an architect and then in his late 20s discovered meditation, moved to India to practice in the Vipassana tradition, and in 2000 met his zen teacher, Tenshin Reb Anderson. He was a resident monk with the San Francisco Zen Center at Tassajara and City Center for four years, was certified to teach in the zen tradition in 2014 and is a teacher in training in the Diamond Approach. He is passionate about looking again at what it is to be human, and combining contemporary psychological understanding with traditional teachings. Simon can also be found doing contemporary dance and tending to his bees and garden.
