Claudia Erzinger started her meditation practice with long retreats in her 20’s. She mostly practiced with the insight meditation community but had some overlapping experiences through Buddhist Peace Fellowship and friends in the Zen community.
In 2000 she started the intuitive painting practice at the Center for Creative Exploration (CCE) with Barbara Kaufman. She felt right away that meditation and painting have a lot in common, one aspect that drew her to painting was that it asked her to make everything visible, to be completely honest, and to express from inside out.
She started to teach intuitive painting in 2006 and continued to learn from Barbara Kaufman and then also from Michele Cassou (founder of Point Zero Painting). Barbara and Claudia taught at Spirit Rock Meditation Center as part of their recurring 7-day retreat “Meditation and the Spirit of Creativity.”
In 2018 she became the Executive Director at The Center for Creative Exploration, where she continues to teach weekly classes, workshops and long intensive programs.
In parallel Claudia has been working as a hospice nurse and did the Zen hospice volunteer training in 2000.
