This online dialogue brings together two deeply experienced practitioners from the Zen and Vajrayana traditions to explore paths of awakening to our true nature for the benefit of all.

Chris Jay, with decades of immersion in both Rinzai Zen and Tibetan Buddhism—including seven years of monastic training in Kyoto and a three-year Vajrayana retreat—offers insight into the interplay between these traditions.

Kokyo Henkel, a Soto Zen teacher with extensive Vajrayana training, bridges these lineages through his years of practice and teaching.

Together, they will engage in an open discussion on themes such as Buddha-nature and guru devotion, inviting reflections on the convergence and distinctions between these approaches.

Participants are invited to send in questions and ask questions during the discussion, so the conversation can follow the interests of those attending. Information on how to submit questions in advance is included in the welcome materials.
