Join Taigen Dan Leighton in this online seminar exploring the teachings of Dongshan Liangjie (807–869; Jpn.: Tozan Ryokai), founder of the Chinese Soto Zen lineage (Caodong Chan in Chinese, pronounced Tsaodong).

This session focuses on Dongshan’s illuminating koans and teaching stories, offering insights into his profound practice of suchness. Discussions are based on Taigen’s book, Just This Is It: Dongshan and the Practice of Suchness (Shambhala).

Learn more about Part II in this series: The Jewel Mirror Samadhi and the Five Positions, 3/1.

Attendance at both seminars is encouraged for a fuller understanding of Dongshan’s teachings, but each session is designed to stand on its own.
