Description

In the Buddha Hall, 7:30 – 9 pm

Zen training encourages our moment-by-moment actions of body, speech, and mind to flow from a consistent and sincere practice of zazen, or sitting meditation. How can we nourish our own true “dharma gate of repose and bliss,” a dynamic and living field informed but not limited by our teachers’ instructions? How can we cultivate an attitude of patient, gentle, and infinitely curious investigation when it comes to how we carry ourselves? Exploring a variety of perspectives on posture through texts, visual tools, and our own present-moment attunement, we will engage in a series of weekly body-mind inquiries, including at-home explorations, to invite sensitivity and awaken the mysterious and inconceivable experience of harmonious posture. Depending on class size, individualized posture mentoring and optional class outings may also be offered to further enrich the experience.
