Kazuaki Tanahashi is a calligrapher, painter, Zen scholar, and writer. Originally from Japan, he has had solo exhibitions worldwide. As a peace worker, Kaz is founding director of A World Without Armies. Kaz is the editor of a two volume translation of Dogen’s Shobogenzo,
Treasury of the True Dharma Eye: Zen Master Dogen's Shobo Genzo, published in July 2011. His book
Sky Above, Great Wind: The Life and Poetry of Zen Master Ryokan was published in October 9, 2012.
The Essential Dogen, edited with Peter Levitt, was released in 2013.
