"A person in the mountains should love the mountains" - Dogen
Enjoy the beauty of the spring mountains with camera in hand, gently exploring the landscapes of Tassajara.
Tassajara is cradled in the spectacular mountains of the Ventana wilderness. Spending time at the monastery is an opportunity to live life at walking pace - to slow down and observe our surroundings and the workings of our own mind. Through sitting zazen, and the other formal activities of the monastery, we can bring ourselves to a place of attention and open awareness. How can we use this present and spacious mind to inform our photography? We will wander the grounds of Tassajara, and take to the trails around the monastery to allow ourselves to be enriched by the act of exploring and the process of creation.
