June 10-13 (Monday-Thursday)
A retreat for people in recovery.
Discover how select writings from a beloved 13th century Zen Master enhance and support our journey in recovery.
"To study the Buddha way is to study the self. To study the self is to forget the self.
To forget the self is to be actualized by myriad things.” Dogen Zenji, Genjo Koan
In these days of shared inquiry and practice we will explore the intersection between Zen practice, recovery and the work of Soto Zen’s founding teacher, Dogen Zenji. We will look at selected Dogen writings as they apply to and enrich our meditation and recovery practice. Our days will consist of study, lectures, dharma talks, sitting, dyads and related exercises. We will practice Zen meditation alongside the residential community, enjoy the healing natural surround of Tassajara, and take refuge in our sangha.
Retreat fee: $240 ($204/member)
