Farm and Garden Apprenticeship Program Each spring since the Farm and Garden Apprenticeship Program’s founding, in 1994, new farm and garden apprentices join our community and experience a unique opportunity to study themselves and the natural world through meditation practice and working directly with the land in the Green Gulch watershed.
Guest Program Apprenticeship Program The Guest Program Apprenticeship is a program of three and a half months: eleven weeks in the Guest Program and three weeks in the temple kitchen during the annual January Intensive retreat. Please read the background information on this page and on the Guest Program Apprenticeship Application Process page before applying.
Work Practice Apprenticeship Program Our Work Practice Apprentice Program offers three- and six-month programs to those interested in beginning or continuing residential Zen practice with the support of a community. Work Practice Apprentices participate in the daily life of Green Gulch, which includes several periods of zazen (sitting meditation), services (sutra chanting), assignment to a work crew, informal study and meals.
