Saturday, July 7 1 - 4 pm with Ron Wada and Unzan Graham Ross Conference Center at 308 Page Street Discover how Zazen and Aikido practices work together to enhance our ability to overcome internal barriers, find our center, and creatively engage with life as it is. Aikido training helps us unify our mind, body and spirit in our center, and connect with others from that unified whole. When done together, Zazen and Aikido practices can blend, rub, spark, inspire and reinforce each other in subtle and far-reaching ways. In this introductory workshop we will apply a wholistic approach to mental, physical and spiritual development as we practice two profoundly useful life skills: (1) unifying our whole being to touch and be touched by others; and (2) learning how to fall safely. We will also practice basic Aikido sword movements to learn stance, centering, and body alignment. Designed for beginners, the practice will be gentle - the movements will involve the whole body and may be moderately aerobic. Workshop fees: $40; $36 current SFZC members; $32 limited income Registration: Use the Register Online button above. Or call our toll free number 888.743.9362 or our local number 415.475.9362.
