Fall 2016 Practice Period at Tassajara

Led by Central Abbess Eijun Linda Cutts

(Rescheduled start date)
October 15 – December 20, 2016
(Apply by July 26, 2016)

The Tassajara Zen Mountain Center (Zenshinji) ninety-day practice period follows the traditional Soto Zen monastic schedule of zazen, ceremonies, study and work. The practice period is a rare opportunity for experienced practitioners to participate in the intensive practice at Tassajara, practicing and working closely with sangha and teachers.

A prerequisite for practice at Tassajara is completion of at least one residential practice period at San Francisco Zen Center’s City Center or Green Gulch Farm; or equivalent experience.

Practice Period Fees*: $3600 US (plus $30 application fee), which covers room, board and tuition. Payment in full is required upon arrival at Tassajara unless another arrangement is made in advance with the director. We are not able to offer financial scholarships for practice periods; however, upon successful completion of the San Francisco Zen Center Work Practice Apprenticeship Program, a student becomes eligible to receive a scholarship for a practice period (which includes room, board and tuition).

(*As the basic operating expenses for the practice period are in excess of $4500 per student, please consider donating more if you are able.)
