Taiji as Embodied Communication, TJ 5/31 – 6/3
with Sally Chang and Siobhan Cassidy
May 31 – June 3, 2019 (Friday – Monday)
Communication happens not just at the level of speech but includes body movements, thoughts and intentions.
This unique retreat is the perfect environment to learn the foundations of Wudang Taiji, to nourish resilience and calm in moving meditation. Bringing alive principles of Taiji in both solo and gentle interactive practice, pathways of communicating with courage and vulnerability, kindness and compassion open in us.
For a few days, step away from busyness and stress, and land in the beautiful pocket valley of Tassajara, nestled in the heart of the Ventana Wilderness. Soak in natural hot springs, and remember the rhythm of your breath. Cool off in the creek or float in the pool, meander along hiking trails, and savor Tassajara’s renowned vegetarian cuisine. Tassajara is a true return into nature that deeply replenishes body and soul.
This retreat will bring together Sally’s expertise in Taiji and Daoist Wisdom Traditions with Siobhan’s experience as a communications coach and mediator as well as being a longtime practitioner of Soto Zen. Sally and Siobhan are known for actively illuminating the depth of their wisdom traditions with lightness and warmth.
