Yoga and Zen: The Heart of Infinite Tenderness, 8/4 – 8/9
with Patricia Sullivan and Myo-on Mary Stares
August 4 – 9, 2019 (Sunday – Friday)
Bodhichitta, the awakening of heart-mind, including one’s broken heart, is also described as “the very thought of enlightenment.”
Bodhichitta teachings encourage us to move toward our own tenderness, confusion and shared humanity in order to water the seeds of true compassion, toward self and “other”, to the entire universe. Thus, the Hatha Yoga and Zen practices in this retreat will include movement, stillness, silence and dharma teachings to encourage the awakened heart to know itself. Morning yoga includes attention to detail and curiosity through active postures taken from the Iyengar system and other traditions. Afternoons feature deeply restorative postures to encourage a taste of that surrender to our true awakened, compassionate heart. All sessions include modifications to meet individual needs.Retreat fee: $422 ($359/Member)
Please note that the retreat fee does not include accommodations. Retreats begin late afternoon on the indicated start date and end in the morning on the indicated end date. Visit the Rooms & Rates section and determine your preferred accommodations before making your reservations request online.
