The Zen Center community is coming together to support a capital campaign to widen the circle of people who benefit from Tassajara and all Zen Center temples as places of exploration and respite. The Widening the Circle campaign
provided the financial resources to build Tassajara’s new retreat hall that opened in 2011, greatly enhancing the experience of our guests.
Last summer, guests contributed generously to fund other important capital projects needed at Tassajara. A new Temple Gate
was built and installed to mark the transition from daily life to the sacred space of Tassajara. The permanent installation this spring of Dharma Rain
, the sprinkler system, provides critical protection to Tassajara from the fire that is a natural part of its ecosystem. Guests this year will also enjoy new solar path lights
that are safer and more efficient than the old kerosene lamps and are much more dark-sky friendly, as well.
With these investments in capital improvements at Tassajara complete, we turn our attention to sustaining its day-to-day needs. We invite your financial contributions to the Annual Fund
to help us in this effort.
