September 1-4, 2014 (Monday- Thursday)

A workshop for all self identified women. Experience the depth and liveliness of Buddhist women’s wisdom.

This retreat is based on the ground-breaking new book, The Hidden Lamp: Stories from Twenty-five Centuries of Awakened Women. Spend a few days with the editors of the book, celebrating “awakening in a female form,” through silence, play, inquiry, dialogue, and writing. The stories come from ancient and modern Buddhist women—teachers, mothers, nuns, courtesans, queens, and servants. Together we’ll meet wise women of the past, and we’ll meet each other—wise women of the present. We’ll certainly laugh, we’ll probably cry, and we’ll develop a greater appreciation for the wisdom and courage inherent in our own lives.

Retreat fee: $240 ($204/Member)

Please note that the retreat fee does not include accommodations. Retreats begin late afternoon on the indicated start date and end in the morning on the indicated end date. Visit the Rooms & Rates section and determine your preferred accommodations before making your reservations request online.
