2008 Tassajara Fire

In the summer of 2008, Tassajara Zen Mountain Center was threatened by wildfire, the third largest wildfire in recorded California state history. What came to be known as the Basin Complex fire approached Tassajara gradually at first, eventually forcing the evacuation of guests, then of staff, and converging rapidly on Tassajara from four sides. This is an archive of updates and reports dating from the time of the 2008 Tassajara Fire.
