Our vow is to offer Zen practice in accord with ancient tradition and respond to the needs of today’s troubled world. We ask you to join us, as a member or by making a donation, or contributing in whatever way you can.
Year-End Message from the Abbatial Leaders 2015
In the Zen kitchen is a sign that reads, "Be Careful About Fire." Years ago our founder Suzuki-Roshi calligraphed this saying, which speaks to us vividly today. Fire is powerful--it can cook our food, warm our homes, grow our crops, and spark our imagination and creativity. It can also burn us, and destroy our relationships with the fire of anger. How do we carefully, skillfully, handle fire?
Membership commitments are important because they echo our intimate practice together, and provide a steady financial foundation on which SFZC can grow. Together we ensure that the Dharma continues for everyone.
San Francisco Zen Center provides refuge and engagement for all those who visit our three centers, participate online, and take part in our affiliated sanghas throughout the United States and around the world. Consider making a donation which supports our teachers and students, our vibrant community and the daily activities at our three temples: Tassajara, City Center and Green Gulch Farm.
