Welcome to Green Gulch Farm

Green Gulch Farm Zen Center, also known as Green Dragon Temple (Soryu-ji), is a Buddhist practice center in the Japanese Soto Zen tradition offering training in Zen meditation and ordinary work. Our effort at Green Gulch is to awaken in ourselves and the many people who come here the bodhisattva spirit, the spirit of kindness and realistic helpfulness. This is how we offer our understanding of Buddha's Way.

On Sundays, we offer a public program, which includes zazen instruction, a dharma talk and tea. Those who attend this program are also invited to join the community for lunch ($10-$15 donation requested). Non-resident lay members volunteer with many aspects of the Sunday program.

PLEASE NOTE: Green Gulch is open and accessible during Highway 1 closure due to road repairs.

Take Highway 1 from 101 as usual, then follow detour signs onto Panoramic Highway and left onto Muir Woods Road. At the intersection of Muir Woods Road and Highway 1, take a left. GO AROUND "Road Closed" signs just past the Pelican Inn, and proceed to the Green Gulch Farm driveway going Southbound on Highway 1.
