Friday, June 17, 4pm - Sunday, June 19, 12pm
with Darcy Lyon and Zenshin Greg Fain
What is the role of desire in our life and practice? In many classical traditions, this bright expression of ardor was thought to be a cause of suffering to be transcended. However, Western psychology, Zen, and Anusara Yoga all teach that there is a deep wisdom in the heart's longings which we can actively and consciously use to serve our own awakening. Drawing from the cosmology of Kashmir Shaivism and the philosophical roots of Zen, we will use asana, discussion, and meditation to explore and refine our understanding of the river of desire and its many currents.
