The LGBTIQA Queer Dharma Group is an open group, and newcomers are welcome. It meets monthly online (and when onsite meetings are possible in the Buddha Hall at City Center).

Meeting time: Online, 1 – 2:15 pm PT

Queer Dharma welcomes those who identify as LGBTQIA (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, same gender loving, and two spirit). Each month we share in the spirit of connection, well-being, and authentic presence. Meetings consist of meditation (including instruction), brief talks by Queer-identified speakers, most of whom practice in the Zen Buddhist tradition, and discussion.

The group has been meeting monthly for over ten years at San Francisco Zen Center’s City Center and, since April 2020, online due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Queer Dharma has offered one-day sittings, an annual “Warm Hand to Warm Hand” Study Week at Tassajara Zen Mountain Center, and a daylong program on Trans and Genderfluid awareness.

Queer Dharma is guided by an Advisory Group: Tova Green, Wakoh Shannon Hickey, Lisa Hoffman, David Zimmerman, and Choku Proudfoot.
