Sewing Buddha's Robe

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7 – 8:30 pm
Sewing Room, 308 Page Street

October 2017: The sewing room will be relocated within the next few months to a space in the main building of City Center at 300 Page Street.

This class is to assist those who have received permission from their teacher to sew a rakusu or okesa in preparation for receiving precepts and a robe in Jukai or Shukke Tokudo. People who have already sewn a rakusu or okesa and are interested in learning to assist as sewing teachers are welcome to come and help.

Contact information for sewing: Stephanie Blank – stephanie.blank@sfzc.org at Green Gulch Farm or Wendy Lewis – sewingroomadmin@sfzc.org at City Center. These emails accounts are not checked frequently, but we will respond as soon as possible.

Rakusu Sewing Instructions are available on the web site under Teachings.

A donation of $50 to $250 is suggested for sewing materials and instruction, with an additional donation for the ceremony.
