Enjoy a unique experience staying at a Zen Buddhist temple, a place of calm and quiet in the midst of busy San Francisco.
Located at 300 Page Street at Laguna Street, City Center is convenient to the Castro, the Mission, Hayes Valley, and Haight-Ashbury and close to many major public transportation lines. The historic Julia Morgan building was built over 100 years ago and in 2025, completed an award-winning renovation. This work included the creation of a new Welcome Center and provided ramp access to the building as well as an elevator, updated plumbing and electrical, and other improvements.
Step away from the intensity of the city and relax in comfortable, simply furnished guest rooms located on the third floor. One room has an ensuite bathroom with roll-in shower and looks out onto Page Street, while the others face beautiful internal courtyards, offer queen or double beds, and share bathroom facilities down the hall.
Stays include breakfast; lunch and dinner offered by donation, Monday–Saturday. All meals are vegetarian/vegan and are served communally in the beautiful sunlit dining room.
Guests are welcome to join in the Zen practice schedule (optional) or simply appreciate a restful place to take in San Francisco from a different point of view.
Reservations are made exclusively through City Center’s site. Check availability and make your reservation.
