In 1971, Texan Al Staehely joind joined the West Coast band, Spirit, as lead singer, bass player, and principal songwriter. He recorded the album "Feedback" with that band which contained seven originals by Staehely. Later he wrote ten songs for the Staehely Brothers album released on Epic Records. In 1982, Polydor released a solo album by Al Staehely. Recent releases on SteadyBoy Records include LP “Al Staehely and 10K Hrs.” and EP “Cadillac Cowboys”. As a writer, his songs have been recorded by Keith Moon, Marty Balin Bobbie Gentry, Nick Gravenites, John Cipollina, and Patti Dahlstrom. Al is also a music attorney. Client sample: Stevie Ray Vaughan, Paul Kantner, Johnny Nash, Doug Sahm, Blue October. His creative background proves very beneficial when relating to the artist's needs, as well as the needs of those who manage, produce, and publish artists. Al is also a member of The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the International Association of Entertainment Lawyers, and has lectured at Princeton University, and the Rio Film Festival in Brazil. He also attends the international music industry convention, MIDEM each year in Cannes, France.
