San Francisco Zen Center, located at Page and Laguna streets, offers five charming guest rooms for short-term stays. This is a convenient and economical way to stay in the city while experiencing life in a Zen Buddhist temple and enjoying the serene elegance of a building designed by Julia Morgan.
Rates are per night and include breakfast. Vegetarian meals (lunch and dinner) with the resident community are available Monday through Friday, by donation. After one week as a guest there is no charge for meals in the dining room. All guests are also welcome, but not required, to join the daily meditation schedule and other activities. Bathrooms are shared with resident Zen practitioners, except for Room 1, which has a private bathroom. A wake-up bell is rung at 5:00 am.
For bookings of a week or more, we offer a discount of 10%.
We now offer online reservations for guest rooms at City Center. You can view the available rooms by month and book online. It is a straightforward and simple process.
