with Zenju Earthlyn Manuel
1 - 4 pm
Conference Center at 308 Page St.
Many of us find ourselves stuck in painful experiences in our lives for days, months and even years. This is an invitation to learn how to use these experiences as a foundation to bring joy and liberation within. During this workshop we will discover the use of mindful attention to calming painful feelings and to "gladdening" the mind. We will focus on elements of Buddha's ancient teachings on right view, right intention/understanding, right speech and right action. We will practice sitting meditation, participate in exercises and have informal tea. In each activity we will water the seeds of joy that are waiting for our attention. Fees:
$40; $36 current SFZC members; $32 limited income. Some partial scholarships available. No one turned away for lack of funds. (About Registration, Scholarships and Cancellations
